Britain's best

With the British Hairdressing Awards just weeks away, we thought we’d take a look at just some of the colour talent this nation has to offer. We know there are hundreds of worthy mentions, but we’ve forced ourselves to just focus on three, for now!

Mark Leeson

Former British Hairdresser of the Year, Mark Leeson knows more than a thing or two about colour. Over the years Mark has inspired countless colourists to disregard any and all boundaries. Mark’s work is always vibrant but the effects he creates range from wild colour combinations to sophisticated riffs on a single tone. Add to this the fact that he is one of the hardest-working hairdressers out there, and it’s easy to see why Mark made it to the top.

Rae Palmer

We’ve long admired the colour work of Rae Palmer; there’s no-one quite like her when it comes to infusing hair with not only vibrant colour, but also a ‘lit from within’ quality. Rae’s talents mean that she can literally pick any colour and produce a full-on essay in the qualities and intricacies of that shade. Working out of her We Love Hair salon in Southsea, this multi-award winning hairdresser is undoubtedly an industry influencer.

Darren Ambrose

Current British Hairdresser of the Year, Darren Ambrose is one half of the D&J Ambrose team, and is known for creating some of the most dramatic hair collections we’ve seen. As well as being number one in the business right now, Darren can also be found at international fashion weeks, continually adding to his trend awareness, and no doubt future inspirations. What his clients love is the salon’s desire to give everyone beautiful, natural-looking hair colour.
