Training Course FAQs

Will I be sent details about my course?

You will be sent an email 6 days before the course start date with information such as the location, start time and a link to the course sheet.

Where will my course be held?

Courses usually take place at our stores, but please see our store locator for address confirmation as some training may be held at another location.

What should I wear / what does professional attire mean?

Please wear a tunic and comfortable black trousers. If you don’t have a tunic, a black top and black trousers will be fine. Please wear comfortable closed toe shoes and tie your hair back.

What do I need to bring with me and do I need a model for my course?

Details such as these can be found on the relevant training course pages. If you need further clarification, then please contact the store where your course is being held.

Will I get a certificate after completion?

Depending on the course, you will either get a certificate of attendance or an accredited certificate of achievement. Details of this are available on each course page.

Do I need any previous training to do a course at Capital?

We offer a wide range of beginner courses, which require no prior knowledge or training before taking part.

The course that I want to do doesn’t have a date at a location near me – how can I request a date?

Please contact your local store to request a date. They will pass this on to the Head Office Training Coordinator, and once the date has been arranged, will get back to you to let you know and take your booking.

The course date I was going to book onto has disappeared?

If the date you were looking for has now disappeared, the course has either been cancelled or is fully booked. Please contact your local store to request a new date.

I haven’t received my certificate yet – what should I do?

Certificates can take up to 28 days to be issued. If you completed the course more than 28 days ago and you still haven’t received your certificate, please contact Training Solutions by going to https://www.uktraining-solutions.co.uk/certificates/ and filling in your details. Alternatively you can contact your local store and provide your full name, the name of the course, the date of the course and your email address. They will then request the certificate is resent and it will be emailed to you (usually within 24 hours). Unfortunately if the course took place 3+ years ago we will be unable to obtain a replacement certification for you.

Do I have to pay in full in advance for my course place?

We currently don’t offer any payment plans and require the course fee to be paid in full when you book. We do not accept deposits or ILA/ITA funding. We cannot reserve your place on the course unless you have paid.

Do I need insurance to work in the Hair & Beauty industry?

It is your responsibility to check with your potential/existing insurance provider and/or county council to ensure you are able to gain your public liability, business insurance and any council license requirements before booking a training course through Capital Hair & Beauty Ltd. Salon Gold insurance for hair, beauty and holistic or complementary therapy will cover you perfectly, whether you run a salon or work on a freelance basis as a hairdresser, therapist or nail technician. For more information, please visit our insurance page.

Is there a minimum age for Capital Training course?

All students taking part in our training courses must now be 18 years of age or over (as of 14/01/2019). In the past we have accepted some 16 and 17 year olds, but our training supplier’s insurance policy has changed and they cannot accept any students under 18 under any circumstances. ID will be checked and students will be turned away if they are not old enough. Even if the customer has their own insurance, the educator is not covered to teach students under 18 so the certificate and accreditation will be invalid.
