Get The look! Gorgeous updo by Ken Picton

To achieve this look it’s all about the prep. Start by applying full volume mousse to damp hair and create a volumised blowdry with plenty of volume at the roots. If the hair isn’t very thick, you can use a double blowdry technique: once dry apply mousse again to the roots and re-dry, to give that extra thickened feel.
To create that perfect curled finish to the hair, using inch to inch and a half sections, flat barrel curl the hair around the mid lengths to ends. To create the internal base, take half of the hair from the crown and create an internal half ponytail. To do this, put your hand on the crown (open wide, this is the section you’re working with). Leave a two to three inch perimeter of the hair out of the ponytail – you’re taking just the inside of the hair effectively and you’ll be adding the outside section afterwards.
Wrap the ponytail with pads to create a nice big base around the ponytail, then taking two to three inch sections, lightly backcomb the hair that’s left out and add into the padded ponytail to create that bouffant feel. Continue around the perimeter of the head, backcombing each section and smoothing into the shape. Once you’ve done that, dress the curls into place and spritz with dry hairspray to create a soft feel, teasing some pieces out for added softness.
