Get the look! Party waves from Andrew Barton
For clients who rarely wear their hair down, this wavy look is perfect for a Christmas party or New Year’s Eve! Andrew Barton breaks down this look he created into a few easy steps.
First, brush hair and split into three sections: two side sections (from the ears forward) and a back section. The back panel should be pulled into a ponytail.
Now, starting with the ponytail section, mist a heat protection spray through the hair. Next, using tongs, take random sections and wrap over and around the barrel, holding for just a few seconds. Release by sliding the wand out rather than unwinding the hair.
Repeat this in small sections until all of the ponytail is waved. Now it’s time to move on to one of the front sections. As before, mist with heat protection spray, and, starting at the very front, repeat the wrap-hold-release routine with the wand pointing downwards. When all of this section is waved, repeat on the other side section.
Release the ponytail and ask your client to shake out all her hair, using your fingers to loosen the waves.
Finally, apply a few drops of shine serum to your hands; work it into your palms and gently work through the hair to prevent flyaways.
